Why You Are More Likely To Find A Naked Policeman Than A Sleeping One In Lancashire: Blue Streak In Force’s Racy Safety Posters
A police patrolman has taken down his own particulars in a cheeky plea to persuade motorists to watch out for bikers.
The unnamed officer posed naked – apart from a crash helmet and leather boots – for the billboards, alongside the slogan: ‘What do I have to do to get you to notice me?’
The Lancashire Police campaign, dubbed ‘It’s a bare cop’, will also see 10,000 copies of the racy posters placed in petrol stations, car parks and motoring shops.
About one in five of those killed on the county’s roads in the past five years have been motorcyclists – including seven killed last year.
Chief Inspector Debbie Howard, the force’s head of road policing, said: ‘The posters are something different to what we have done in the past but we felt this was a good way to get our message across.’
County councillor John Fillis, cabinet member for transport, added: ‘As a motorcyclist, I have been involved in some very close misses with cars.’
